Volunteer with us
We simply couldn’t offer the wide range of services and activities we do without the incredible support of our volunteers. Their time, skills and dedication are at the heart of everything we achieve at the Wirral Society of the Blind and Partially Sighted (WSBPS) — and we’re always grateful for it.
Why volunteer with us?
Volunteering with WSBPS is a meaningful way to give back to your community, support people living with sight loss, and have fun while doing it. Many of our current volunteers say they volunteer because they love it. Whether you are looking to make new friends, share your talents, or gain experience, your contribution can make a real difference.
Ways you can get involved
We offer a variety of volunteering opportunities from one-off events to regular roles in our centre and community hubs.
Activity Groups
Support our creative sessions in arts, crafts and pottery, or join our local history group to share and explore the past of Wirral and Liverpool.
Gardening
Our sensory garden is always in need of attention. If you enjoy being outdoors and have a passion for gardening this is a rewarding way to contribute to maintaining this lovely space.
Resource Centre Support
From reception to meeting and greeting visitors or demonstrating equipment, there are many ways to help out in our busy Resource centre.
Community Ambassadors
Join our team of outreach volunteers helping to deliver support, advice and information across Wirral. This is a great way to meet people and help us to raise awareness of services available.
IT Support
Technology can be lifechanging for people with sight loss. Help run our IT classes and assist participants in building confidence with digital tools.
