CLASSES & ACTIVITIES
• Advocacy and Financial Support – Our dedicated advocacy officers will assist both adults and young people with sight loss in understanding and accessing the benefits they are entitled to. This includes guidance on applications, appeals, and ongoing support to ensure they receive the necessary financial assistance. Available through appointment.
• Counselling Support Service – We provide 1:1 counselling as well as group emotional support sessions in a safe and confidential environment. Our counsellor is a member of the BACP ( British Association of Counsellors &Psychotherapists) Available through appointment.
• Sight Loss Support – If you are struggling to come to terms with sight loss and would like to talk to someone with lived experience who will provide peer support, we can put you in touch with one of our visually impaired volunteers.
• Daily Living Aids – Through our Ashville Lodge Resource Centre we can demonstrate a wide range of low vision equipment to help maintain you independence. You can book an appointment with our Low Vision Aids Officer who will spend time with you to try different pieces of equipment and support you through options available.
• Social support groups and creative activities – Make new friends through our social and creative activity groups. These groups provide opportunities to talk to people who face similar difficulties and found ways to overcome them.
• Training – We can help you with using Information Technology and open up more opportunities for learning new digital skills and accessibility tools.
